Getting Started

This blogging website will be all about learning Programming and mastering in it. You never stop learning, so I'm a learner too.

But before jumping into intangible part of the computer system, lets get to know something about the tangible part.

So, what is a Computer

Simply speaking, A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or data. It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You probably already know that you can use a computer to type documents, send email, play games, and browse the Web. You can also use it to edit or create spreadsheets, presentations, and even videos. But it’s ever more than you can ever explore.

(*EK4U: The word "computer" was first recorded as being used in 1613 and was originally was used to describe a human who performed calculations or computations. The definition of a computer remained the same until the end of the 19th century when people began to realize machines never get tired and can perform calculations much faster and more accurately than any team of human computers ever could.)

Data is the raw material that’s provided to the computer by the user.

Information is the useful material that computer gives back after processing the raw material with the help of software/ programs.

First General Purpose computer was ENIAC(Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer) invented in 1946 by John Presper Eckert & John W. Mauchly.

Hardware used : Vaccum Tubes, CRT Screen.
Software: Stored Program/Machine code.

**GK: - Charles Babbage is called the father of computer and the first programmer was Lady Ada Lovelace.

Stored Program:  Program that is stored in the memory of the computer that executes it.
For e.g.
If we give some instruction to any educated person, the person is capable of keeping the information or instruction in the memory and act according whenever required. The capability of storing the instructions is called the stored program.
It uses
                                                                I-P-O system
                                          (Input Processing Output System)

System software: System software manages the computer resources, basically it provides the interface between the hardware and the user but does not directly interacts with the users. In other word, System software (systems software) is computer software designed to operate and control the computer hardware and to provide a platform for running application software. System software can be separated into two different categories, operating systems and utility software.

Application Software: Application software is a set of one or more programs designed to carry out operations for a specific application. Application software cannot run on itself but is dependent on system software to execute.
Application software interacts directly with the user.
